Segun Ijaodola fondly called Ija was born at Epe, a quiet town in Lagos State of Nigeria. He attended the Epe Grammar School, Epe for his secondary education, and proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic for his Ordinary and Higher National Diploma in Accounting. In October 1995, Segun registered for the Masters in Business Administration degree at Olabisi Onabanjo University, and graduated with specialization in General Management in 1997. Not long after his MBA course, Segun developed interest in the Law profession, and returned back to the classroom to start a 5-year degree course in Law at the same University. He graduated with an LL.B. degree, and proceeded immediately to the Law School in Lagos. After the one-year sojourn at Law School, he was called to the Nigerian Bar to practise as a Legal Practictioner. He also obtained the Masters degree in Law[LL.M.]to expand his knowledge as a Lawyer. On his work career, Ija started with the Lagos State Government. His experience span various Ministries and Government Departments such as the Schools Management Board/Ministry of Education, Hospital Management Board/Ministry of Health, State Treasury/Ministry of Finance. In 1989, he transferred to the Lagos State Local Government Service, and worked as Council Treasurer at many of the councils including Epe, Kosofe,Eti-osa, Ajegunle and Ifako-Ijaye. His service and career with the Lagos State got to its zenith when he was appointed by Bola Tinubu administration as a Permanent Secretary. He retired from the Lagos State Public Service in 2008 to start his private Law Practice. His social and community life was a very active one. He wass one of the founding member of the Pivot Club, Epe and member of a host of other clubs within and outside Epe. At the time of his death, he was the President of the Ijebu-ode Club, Ijebu-ode, and his Presidency would be greatly remembered for great developmental changes brought to the club. His contributions within various communities are of great impact and had been honoured with Chieftancy titles by communitites within and outside his hometown. He is survived by his aged mother, three wives and many children. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. He will sorely be missed by all.
